The Bridge Pavilion is a 270-meter-long covered footbridge designed by British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid for Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain. Spanning the Ebro River and connecting the neighbourhood of La Almozara to the exposition site, it served as the event's main entrance and landmark. The structure ingeniously combines infrastructure with exhibition space, its organic form evoking a gladiola flower. Hadid enveloped the bridge in fibre-glass-reinforced concrete supplied by Austrian company Rieder, cladding its outer skin with 29,000 triangles of fibreglass in varying shades of grey. During the exposition, it hosted an exhibition on water designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates. After Expo 2008 concluded, the building was purchased by the local savings bank Ibercaja for continued use as an exhibition venue.
