Bunkenburg was a medieval castle built during the 13th and 14th centuries on the banks of the Aller River near Ahlden in northern Germany, distinguished by its circular fortification design. Constructed from bog iron—locally called Bunke, a material that likely inspired the castle's name—the fortress has largely disappeared, with only a surviving rampart section approximately 60 metres long and 3 metres high remaining today.
