Burg Kreuzenstein is a castle near Leobendorf in Lower Austria, standing 265 metres above sea level. Count Nepomuk Wilczek rebuilt it in the 19th century on the remains of a medieval castle demolished during the Thirty Years' War, financing the work with money from the family's Silesian coal mines. Its builders assembled it from sections of medieval structures the Wilczek family bought across Europe, so it stands as both a neo-medieval and an original medieval structure.
