The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, located on Barronstrand Street in Waterford, Ireland, is a neoclassical brick structure completed in 1793. It holds the distinction of being the oldest post-Reformation Catholic cathedral in Ireland, constructed three decades before the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829 granted Catholics greater religious freedoms. As the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Waterford and Lismore, it represents a remarkable example of Catholic institutional architecture erected during a period when such buildings were rare and legally precarious in Ireland.
