The Cheyenne Depot Museum occupies a Union Pacific Railroad station built in 1886 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a masterwork of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture that was the railroad's largest depot west of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Designated a National Historic Landmark, the building exemplifies the grand civic ambitions of late nineteenth-century railroad construction in the American West. The museum itself, established in 1993, interprets Cheyenne's early history and the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad through multiple exhibits, and occasionally conducts tours of other railroad facilities in the area.
