The Church of Our Lady of the Poor in Milan, completed in 1954, was designed by architects Luigi Figini and Gino Pollini as a Catholic parish church. Built in the brutalist architectural style, the structure exemplifies the modernist approach to religious architecture that emerged in post-war Italy, employing the raw concrete forms and geometric severity characteristic of brutalism to create a devotional space that departed radically from traditional ecclesiastical design.
