The Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian in Stade, Germany, is a Lutheran house of worship with roots reaching back to the early 12th century, though it underwent significant extension during the 17th century. Built primarily of brick in the Brick Gothic style, the church was substantially developed in 1659 and enhanced further with important artistic commissions. The Baroque altar, executed by Christian Precht between 1674 and 1677, exemplifies the artistic ambitions of the period, while the organ—constructed by Berendt Hus and the celebrated Arp Schnitger from 1668 to 1675, then expanded by Schnitger in 1688—represents a major achievement in German organ building. The church's musical significance was further established when Vincent Lübeck served as organist from 1675 to 1702. Today, the structure stands as a cultural heritage monument in Lower Saxony.
