The Church of St Margaret of Antioch in Darenth, Kent, is a Norman-era parish church of considerable antiquity, with a chancel and nave dating to the late 10th or early 11th century and a sanctuary added in the early 12th century. Among the oldest surviving churches in Kent and the United Kingdom, it ranks third and sixth respectively in age. The building underwent two significant 19th-century restorations: the first by William Burges between 1866 and 1868, and the second by Ewan Christian in 1888. Now Grade I listed, the church preserves early medieval fabric beneath later interventions, though architectural historians have noted its modest visual appeal relative to its historical importance.
