Located in Dobanovci in the Belgrade region of Serbia, the Church of St. Nicholas is a Serbian Orthodox church built on the site of an earlier 18th-century structure. The building exemplifies classical architecture infused with Baroque elements, featuring a rectangular single-nave plan with a semi-circular apse and a distinctive two-story bell tower in Baroque style. The interior contains exceptional artistic and craft work: the iconostasis and ornamental woodwork were executed in 1836 by the celebrated Vojvodina woodcarver Georgije Dević, while the iconostasis paintings were created between 1841 and 1842 by renowned Serbian painter Petar Čortanović. Beyond its architectural significance, the church preserves a substantial collection of rare icons, period church furnishings, 18th-century printed books, and vital parish registers spanning the 18th to 20th centuries. Recognized as a Monument of Culture, the church stands as an important repository of Serbian Orthodox heritage and 19th-century artistic achievement.
