The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gryfice is a brick Gothic parish church erected over two centuries, from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries through the end of the 15th century, and formally dedicated in 1498. Rising 51.5 meters, the church features a polygonal plan with rib and lierne vaults, buttresses adorned with crosses and lilies, metope friezes, and rare mascarons and traceries on its external elevations—ornamental features uncommon in Western Pomeranian sacred architecture. The building underwent significant reconstruction from 1659 to 1668 and subsequent 17th and 19th-century expansions and renovations. Beyond its chancel, nave, and tower, the church originally housed two additional chapels dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Mary. Its interior preserves a remarkable array of historical furnishings spanning centuries: a Romanesque baptismal font from the 13th century, a late Gothic triptych from the 15th century's end, a Baroque main altar, an eighteenth-century pulpit and pipe organs, choir stalls, and numerous tombstones and epitaphs.
