The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in the Žvėrynas neighborhood of Vilnius as a Roman Catholic structure designed by architect Wacław Michniewicz in the Romanesque Revival style. Built primarily of brick, the church was largely completed in 1925, though its initial design was never fully realized—the planned towers were never constructed due to the financial constraints of the Great Depression and the disruptions of World War II. The building reflects the historicist architectural movements of early twentieth-century Lithuania, its incomplete state a material reminder of the historical forces that shaped its construction.
