The Church of Vytautas the Great, located in the Old Town of Kaunas, Lithuania, is the city's oldest church, founded in 1401. Built of brick in the Brick Gothic style, it stands as an important example of Gothic architecture in Lithuania and is distinguished by its unique Gothic cross-shaped plan with side chapels—the only such configuration in the country. Also known as the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this Roman Catholic structure represents a significant architectural achievement from the early fifteenth century.
