The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Yonkers, New York, is the oldest Catholic parish in the city. Built in 1848 and designed by architect Lawrence J. O'Connor, the stone structure exemplifies the Richardsonian Romanesque style, a robust architectural manner characterized by heavy masonry and rounded arches that became prominent in American architecture during the late nineteenth century.
