Clifton is a Carpenter Gothic house built in 1873 in Epsom, Auckland, owned by businessman Josiah Clifton Firth. The residence exemplifies the Gothic Revival style adapted to wooden construction, a characteristic expression of mid-nineteenth-century New Zealand domestic architecture. Recognized as a Category 1 historic place by Heritage New Zealand, Clifton represents an important example of the period's aspirational building practices in the Auckland region.
