Located in Columbia, South Carolina, the Columbia Central Fire Station is a historic Moderne and International Style complex built between 1949 and 1951. The main structure is a two-story rectangular brick building distinguished by its flat roof and distinctive horizontal bands of windows, characteristic of mid-twentieth-century modernist design. The complex comprises three components: the main headquarters building and an adjoining one-story brick fire truck garage, both completed in 1949–1950, and a six-story reinforced concrete drill tower added in 1951. The station served as the Columbia Fire Department's headquarters from 1950 until 1995, reflecting the city's mid-century modernization. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
