The Communal Kitchen on Sosinskaya Street in Moscow's Yuzhnoportovy District was a constructivist structure erected in 1931 as part of the Soviet Union's experimental approach to collective living and shared domestic infrastructure. Designed during the height of constructivist architectural innovation, the building embodied modernist principles and the ideological commitment to communal arrangements that characterized early Soviet urban planning. The structure remained standing for over ninety years before its demolition in 2022, having achieved candidate status as a heritage site in Russia, a designation reflecting its historical significance as an example of Soviet-era social architecture.
