The Congress Center Hamburg, located in Hamburg-Mitte adjacent to Planten un Blomen park and near Dammtor station, opened on 14 April 1973 as Germany's first convention center. Built in the brutalist architectural style, the facility has evolved through multiple expansions and renovations, culminating in a complete overhaul in 2017. Beyond hosting conventions, the center serves as a major concert venue, having attracted performers including Queen and ABBA. The complex includes an attached Radisson Blu Hotel Hamburg.
