Coria was a strategically positioned Roman fort and town in Britannia, located 2.5 miles south of Hadrian's Wall near the modern village of Corbridge in Northumberland. Situated at the junction of Dere Street, a major north–south Roman road, with the River Tyne and the Stanegate—the east–west frontier line connecting Coria to Luguvalium (modern Carlisle)—the settlement commanded a critical point in the province's road network. Now a scheduled monument and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the archaeological remains are managed by English Heritage and open to visitors, with partially exposed structures and an on-site museum.
