Built in 1888 by Thomas Tomlinson as a one-story rectangular adobe structure, the Cruz Trading Post in Casa Grande, Arizona served first as a general store and post office before functioning as a saloon, bank, and various commercial offices. Around 1937, when businessman Ramon Cruz purchased the building for his Indian trading post, it was remodeled into Pueblo Revival style—a transformation that made it Casa Grande's only example of a commercial building in that architectural idiom. The stuccoed adobe edifice retains period details including wooden vigas and a pressed tin ceiling. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, it stands as one of the town's oldest commercial buildings and reflects the entrepreneurial legacy of the Cruz family, prominent Casa Grande merchants since 1905.
