Built in 1949 in La Plata, Argentina, the Curutchet House is a modernist residence designed by Le Corbusier for surgeon Dr. Pedro Domingo Curutchet. The compact structure ingeniously combines a private home with a small medical office on the ground floor, separated by an interior courtyard. Organized across four levels and oriented toward the adjacent Paseo del Bosque park, the house exemplifies Le Corbusier's functional approach, with its main facade distinguished by a brise soleil—a solar screen characteristic of his climate-responsive design philosophy. Recognized as a National Historical Monument of Argentina and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Curutchet House remains one of the architect's few realized works in South America.
