The Deutsche Oper Berlin, located in Berlin's Charlottenburg district, is Germany's second-largest opera house, designed by architect Fritz Bornemann and designated as an architectural heritage monument. The building serves as home to both the resident opera company and the Berlin State Ballet. Since 2004, it has been part of the Berlin Opera Foundation, which unites it with the city's other major opera institutions, including the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Komische Oper Berlin.
