The Dorothy H. Turkel House, located at 2760 West 7 Mile Road in Detroit's Palmer Woods neighborhood, is the only Frank Lloyd Wright–designed building within the city limits of Detroit. Completed in 1956, this two-story residence represents a rare Usonian design—an exceptional case, as Wright's Usonian Homes were typically modest, single-story dwellings. The house was restored between 2006 and 2010 under the stewardship of owners Norman Silk and Dale Morgan, working with former Wright apprentice Lawrence R. Brink, at a cost of one million dollars.
