The Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa, located in the Alentejo region of Portugal approximately 150 kilometers east of Lisbon, is a Renaissance palace that served as the seat of the House of Braganza for centuries. The Braganza family ruled Portugal as its royal house from 1640 until 1910, when King Manuel II was deposed in the October 5 Revolution. Now a museum and designated national monument, the palace stands as a testament to the architectural and political prominence of one of Portugal's most significant noble dynasties.
