A Jacobethan Revival commercial structure completed in 1930 on East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio, this brick building on a concrete foundation features characteristic gabled woodwork clad in slate. Since its construction, it has housed a diverse succession of tenants—including doctor's offices, insurance agencies, and a Kroger store that operated from 1930 to 1946—and became particularly known for its Chinese restaurants, notably the Golden Lotus (1930–1950) and Jong Mea (1950–1995). Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as part of the E. Broad Street Multiple Resources Area, the building represents a significant example of early twentieth-century commercial Jacobethan design and the multicultural commercial landscape of Columbus's downtown.
