Elston Chapel, a redundant Anglican church standing in a field north-east of Elston, Nottinghamshire, is a Norman structure dating to 1101. Now Grade I listed and cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust, the chapel is characterised by its modest, barn-like form. Its Norman origins are evident in its architectural style, and its isolated rural setting has preserved this medieval building as a distinctive remnant of early ecclesiastical architecture in the English Midlands.
