Completed in 1925 for businessman Charles Ennis and his wife Mabel on a hilltop in Los Feliz, the Ennis House is Frank Lloyd Wright's largest of four concrete textile block residences built in Greater Los Angeles during the 1920s. Designed in the Mayan Revival style, the structure comprises a main building and garage wing separated by a motor court and connected by footbridge, all enclosed within a high retaining wall. The construction showcases approximately 24,000 engraved concrete textile blocks, stained glass windows, and ziggurat-like roofs. The main house spans roughly 6,000 square feet with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms; the garage wing contains an additional bedroom. Interiors feature marble floors, mosaic tiles, exposed ceiling beams, chandeliers, and wrought iron details, with the entrance hall distinctly positioned beneath the main floor. The building represents a transitional moment in Wright's career between his Prairie-style and later Usonian designs. Now a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, California Historical Landmark, and National Register listing, the house has become a favored filming location, notably appearing in *Blade Runner*.
