On United States Route 1 in Milbridge, Maine, stands the Everett Wallace House, a Queen Anne–style residence completed in 1938. Unusual as a late example of the Queen Anne idiom, the house was built as a near replica of its predecessor, which the owner's family lost to fire the previous year. The home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
