Located in Des Moines, Iowa, the F.E. Haley Double House is a 2½-story brick Colonial Revival structure built in 1897 by developer Felix E. Haley as a rental investment property. Notable as one of the earliest double houses constructed in the area—a housing type that would become more prevalent during the Victorian era—the building demonstrates Colonial Revival aesthetics through its symmetrical facade, multicolored and textured brickwork, and distinctive architectural details. Four lunette-shaped windows with shield-shaped panes punctuate the frieze, while the structure is topped by a sloping flat roof. Though the front porch is a later addition, the house retains its historic integrity and was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
