The Fernsehturm Berlin, completed in 1968, stands 368 metres tall in the heart of Berlin as one of the city's most iconic structures. Designed by architects Günter Franke and Hermann Henselmann, this television tower served as a functional broadcasting facility while establishing itself as a landmark of modernist engineering. The tower's distinctive form—a slender shaft crowned by a spherical observation deck—became emblematic of Cold War-era Berlin architecture. Designated as a cultural heritage ensemble, the Fernsehturm represents a significant achievement in mid-twentieth-century design and continues to dominate the city's skyline.
