At the 1937 Paris Exposition, Finnish architect Alvar Aalto designed a national pavilion in the 16th arrondissement that showcased modernist innovation. Completed in 1936, the structure exemplified Aalto's characteristic approach to form and materials during the interwar period. The pavilion was demolished after the fair concluded in 1937, leaving behind only its historical documentation and influence on international exhibition design.
