In Massillon, Ohio, the First Methodist Episcopal Church stands as a robust example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Completed in 1895, the structure employs stone and sandstone with a copper roof, its heavy, rusticated forms characteristic of the style that dominated American church design in the late nineteenth century. Dedicated in June of that year, the building has endured as a significant local landmark and was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Today known as the First United Methodist Church, it remains located at 301 Lincoln Way East.
