The Five Finger Islands Light, a modern-style lighthouse built by the United States Lighthouse Service in 1902, stands on a small island between Stephens Passage and Frederick Sound in southeastern Alaska. It was one of the first two U.S. government lighthouses established in Alaska, first lit on March 21, 1902, alongside Sentinel Island Light Station. The station remained staffed until August 14, 1984, when it became the last lighthouse in Alaska to be automated. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it represents a significant chapter in the region's maritime history.
