The Forbidden City Concert Hall is a 1,419-seat opera house and concert venue located within Beijing's Zhongshan Park, situated to the southwest of the Forbidden City in the Imperial City. Named for its park setting—which occupies the grounds of a former imperial altar, the Shejitan—the hall is renowned as much for the romantic atmosphere of its historic gardens and surrounding landmarks as for its acoustic properties. The venue functions as a multi-purpose performance space within one of Beijing's most celebrated parks.
