The Fox Theatre, located at 660 Peachtree Street NE in Midtown Atlanta, is a lavish performing arts venue and former movie palace that opened in 1929 as part of the Fox Theatres chain. Originally conceived as part of a Shrine Temple, the building retains its distinctive Moorish and Egyptian Revival architectural style, which informed its design from the outset. The 4,665-seat auditorium has become the centerpiece of the Fox Theatre Historic District and continues to host diverse cultural programming, including performances by the Atlanta Ballet, Broadway touring companies, concerts, and a summer film series. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theatre remains one of Atlanta's most prominent cultural institutions.
