Freising Cathedral in Bavaria is a romanesque basilica also known as Saint Mary and Corbinian Cathedral, built beginning in 1159 of rubble masonry. Designed by Hans Krumpper, the structure evolved architecturally over time, incorporating Romanesque, Gothic, and Rococo elements. Serving as co-cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, it holds particular historical significance as the site where Pope Benedict XVI was ordained a priest. The cathedral stands as an architectural heritage monument in Bavaria.
