The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow is a privately funded institution founded in 2008 by Dasha Zhukova and Roman Abramovich as the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, later renamed in 2014. Since June 2015, it has occupied a building designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Beyond its permanent collections and rotating exhibitions, the museum functions as a research center with archives of Russian contemporary art from the 1950s onward, and operates educational programs while publishing works on contemporary Russian and international art and culture.
