The German School of Lisbon, situated in the Lumiar district of Portugal's capital, is the oldest German school in the Iberian Peninsula, founded in 1848. The institution comprises both primary and secondary divisions, with the primary school predominantly serving German pupils and a separate campus in nearby Estoril, Cascais. The school's architectural development involved contributions from both João Luís Carrilho da Graça and Otto Bartning, blending early nineteenth-century establishment with later design refinements to create a campus reflecting both pedagogical and architectural values of international education in Lisbon.
