Located at 449 Pemberwick Road in Greenwich, Connecticut, Glenville School is a Colonial Revival building constructed in the 1920s as part of the town's consolidation of rural school districts into a modern educational system. Designed by architect James O. Betelle, a specialist in school buildings, it exemplifies Georgian Revival design, though it uniquely distinguishes itself among seven contemporary schools in the town through its distinctive "T" shaped plan, with the auditorium housed in a front wing. Following the relocation of the elementary school to a newer facility in 1975, the building was repurposed as the Western Greenwich Civic Center. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 both as an individual property and as a contributing structure to the Glenville Historic District, it remains a notable public landmark in this former mill community.
