Great Bend Station is a Mission Revival depot built by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in Great Bend, Kansas, along the railroad's main line connecting Chicago and Los Angeles. The station exemplifies the architectural style favored by the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific railroads in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, featuring buff brick construction, broad eaves, arched windows, a stylized Santa Fe emblem, and an open-air waiting room. Originally served by multiple passenger trains including the California Limited and local routes to Dodge City and Scott City, the station witnessed declining traffic through the mid-twentieth century as service was rerouted and consolidated. Passenger operations ceased entirely by 1965, though the building survives.
