Häme Castle, also known as Tavastia Castle, is a medieval castle in Hämeenlinna, Finland, built on a former island and now standing on the shore of Lake Vanajavesi. Its central keep and curtain walls are enclosed by a moat, with masoned granite lower tiers and red brick upper ones. Although its construction date is disputed, it is generally placed in the 13th century, and it now operates as a museum run by the Finnish National Board of Antiquities.
