The Hamilton Waterworks, a Victorian-style pumping station in Hamilton, Ontario, was constructed between 1856 and 1859 by local stonemason George Worthington and formally opened on 18 September 1860 by Edward VII, then Prince of Wales, during a royal tour of Canada. A rare Canadian example of an industrial water works structure that remains "architecturally and functionally largely intact," it was designated a heritage site in 1977 and named a National Historic Site of Canada in 2007. Today it serves as the Museum of Steam and Technology.
