Built in 1894 as a municipal waterworks facility in Waltham, Massachusetts, this two-story brick structure at 92 Felton Street exemplifies Colonial Revival architecture adapted to utilitarian purposes. Constructed during a major city public works campaign, the building reveals period advances in industrial design: its basement workshop featured a cement floor and both gas and electrical lighting, while the main floor combined concrete and iron construction to accommodate office space, carriage storage, and stalls for six horses. The upper floor provided hay and fodder storage for the stabled animals. Originally designed to serve the water department's operational needs, the building was repurposed as a dog pound by the 1980s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
