Historic residential terraces at 380–410 and 153–165 River Street in Waltham, Massachusetts, built in the nineteenth century to house workers of the Boston Manufacturing Company, the nation's earliest modern manufacturing facility. Designed in the Italianate architectural style and constructed around 1880, these two blocks of connected housing reflect the paternalistic industrial practices of the era. Both blocks were individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, recognizing their significance as rare surviving examples of purpose-built worker housing from America's industrial revolution.
