The Havenhuis, or Port House, is an administrative building in Antwerp's Eilandje district designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid in her deconstructivist style. Built between 2009 and 2016, it serves as headquarters for the Antwerp Port Authority and houses approximately 500 employees. The building's distinctive design incorporates a fire station at its base, above which rises a contemporary diamond-shaped structure characterized by sharp, straight edges and a supporting column. The building opened in 2016, the year of Hadid's death, and remains her only government commission. Conceived to symbolize the Port of Antwerp's dynamic, reliable, ambitious, and innovative character, the Havenhuis functions both as an administrative center and a meeting place for the international port community.
