The Heating plant and main controls cabin at Florence's Santa Maria Novella railway station is a technical facilities building designed by Angiolo Mazzoni and completed in 1935. An exemplar of Futurist-Constructivist-Modernist architecture, the structure has been recognized as among the greatest masterpieces of that aesthetic movement, bringing the machine-age idiom of early twentieth-century modernism to the utilitarian infrastructure of a major European railway complex.
