The Hotel Jalta stands on Wenceslas Square in Prague, a socialist realist structure built in 1954 that conceals a Cold War nuclear bunker beneath it. Designed by architect Antonín Tenzer, the hotel was constructed by the communist government as both a public hospitality space and a hidden civil defense shelter. The bunker remained secret until 1989, when its discovery coincided with the collapse of communism in Czechoslovakia. Today, the building is recognized as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
