Houska Castle, located in the municipality of Blatce in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic approximately 47 kilometers north of Prague, is an early Gothic fortress constructed around 1300. Among the best-preserved castles of its era, Houska features a predominantly Gothic chapel, a green chamber decorated with late-Gothic paintings, and a knight's drawing room. The castle holds a distinctive place in local folklore, which claims it was built over one of the gateways to Hell, constructed to trap demons in its lower levels and prevent them from reaching the world above. The castle is recognized as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
