Howells was a prominent department store on St Mary Street in Cardiff, Wales, established by James Howell in 1865. Designed by architect Percy Thomas, the building exemplifies Beaux-Arts and Victorian architectural styles. Acquired by the House of Fraser group in 1972 and rebranded under that name in 2010, the Grade II* listed structure remained a Cardiff landmark until its closure in March 2023. The building was subsequently purchased by the Thackeray Group, which proposed converting it into an aparthotel.
