The Howe Building is a historic four-story commercial structure located at 208 Middlesex Street in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts, built in 1883 by brothers John F. and Henry C. Howe, prominent local developers and city council members. Constructed of brick and rendered in the Queen Anne style with Romanesque Revival elements, it stands as one of Lowell's finest Queen Anne commercial buildings. Its most distinctive architectural features include an unusual mansard roof for the period and style, and a commanding central stepped gable punctuated by a large arched window. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
