The Imamzadeh Aqil in Eslamshahr County, Iran, is a Safavid-era mausoleum built of brick and mortar with tilework. Like other imamzadehs—shrines dedicated to descendants of the Islamic prophets and imams—it served as a sacred funerary monument within its region. The structure reflects the architectural conventions of Safavid Iran, an era that produced some of the Islamic world's most refined decorative and structural techniques. Though details of its patron and precise construction date remain limited, the building stands as a modest but characteristic example of Safavid devotional architecture.
